Návšteva študentov Gymnázia Pavla Horova v Michalovciach

Dňa 23. mája 2025 navštívilo Ústav geografie 14 študentov 1. a 2. ročníka štvorročného štúdia Gymnázia Pavla Horova v Michalovciach v rámci odborného programu, ktorý prebiehal paralelne na viacerých pracoviskách Fakulty prírodných vied UPJŠ v Košiciach.
Na Ústave geografie privítali skupinu 14 študentov doc. Michal Gallay, Dr. Katarína Onačillová a Dr. Jozef Šupinský. V Laboratóriu geografických informačných systémov sa študenti oboznámili s technológiami diaľkového prieskumu Zeme – videli diaľkovo ovládané multikoptéry vybavené termálnymi, hyperspektrálnymi a laserovými senzormi, ako aj súpravy na pozemné meranie pomocou GNSS technológie a elektronickej tachymetrie.
V počítačovej učebni si prakticky vyskúšali zber a spracovanie trojrozmerných údajov pomocou pozemného laserového skenera, ktorý sa využíva napríklad pri monitorovaní erózie pôdy, zosuvov, jaskýň, tunelov alebo technických stavieb. Následne analyzovali satelitné snímky z európskych družíc z oblasti Zemplínskej Šíravy a diskutovali o ich využití pri ochrane krajiny, monitorovaní zmien v prostredí či sledovaní kvality vôd.
Všetky prezentované technológie a softvérové nástroje predstavujú súčasť výučby programu Geografia a geoinformatika, kde sa študenti učia pracovať s reálnymi dátami v teréne aj laboratóriu. Aktivity, ako je tento odborný seminár, sú zároveň súčasťou riešenia edukačného projektu KEGA 023UPJŠ-4/2025 s názvom „Vzdelávanie diaľkového prieskumu Zeme so zameraním na satelitné a bezpilotné letecké platformy – tvorba učebnice a online študijných materiálov“.
